Adina Zilberman, founder of the blog, Krasey Beauty, is the go to woman when you want to know the 411 on the newest beauty and fashion information. She is the ultimate siren who helps women keep it real when it comes to looking and feeling their best (not to mention she was named 2009's Top Beauty Blogger).
When I met Zilberman, she immediately left an impression on me with her passion for fashion/beauty, plus her lusciousness. Tapping into her Russian roots, she used the word, Krasevaya which means beautiful, to come up with the clever name for her blog, Krasey Beauty. Being one of the most regarded beauty bloggers must be hard work, but Zilberman does it well. Find out what she never leaves home without, her three tips for women, and of course what hits her Jew spot.
YS: How did you get into blogging about beauty and fashion?
AZ: Before the blogging came the obsession, and that started to make itself known almost immediately after college. Quickly realizing that most people don't go into a state of euphoric excitement over the newest handbag or lipstick shade, I took to the internet to share my passion, my obsession, and the loves of my life with fellow fanatics.
YS: Name two beauty items that you always have in your bag and why?
AZ: I never leave home without my Yves St Laurent Rouge Volupte #1, a rich, creamy, emollient lipstick in a classic shade of nude beige that flatters everyone. It smells delicious, and hydrates my lips better than any lip balm can. I also always carry a mini tube of mascara, for those days I forgot to put on makeup, and don't want to be caught looking tired-eyed.
YS: What do you think makes a woman beautiful?
AZ: A beautiful woman is one who knows what her best features are, and knows how to flaunt them. She accepts herself for everything that she is, and rocks it on the daily with an inner confidence that radiates outward.
YS: Please give us three beauty/fashion tips to help us bring out our inner siren
AZ: Every girl should know how to execute a killer smoky eye. To get the look on the quick and easy, line eyes with a soft khol pencil on both the top and the bottom. Then, using a dark brown (or blue, or silver, or black) eyeshadow, smudge the shadow into and over the liner. A couple of coats of mascara, and you have instant bedroom eyes.
Know your body type, and dress accordingly. Nothing is sexier than a dress that hugs you in all the right places.
One of the hottest trends for fall will be the return of the red lip. To get the shade that is best for you, take the time to visit a counter and play with the various shades of red (cool,warm, neutral)! If you are looking to ease into the look, start with a soft red gloss or stain.
YS: What hits your Jew spot?
AZ: A thick slice of Challah bread, topped with cream cheese and Lox. Gets me every time.
